Job Description – Billing Engineer (Canal & Irrigation Projects)

Experience:3–7 Years (Canal / Irrigation / Civil Infrastructure Projects)
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare RA bills, running bills, final bills, and subcontractor bills for canal and irrigation projects.
- Measure and verify executed quantities of earthwork, canal excavation, embankment, lining, concrete works, and structures.
- Prepare detailed Measurement Books (MBs), quantity sheets, and abstract sheets.
- Handle client billing, subcontractor billing, and reconciliation of executed quantities.
- Verify BOQ items, contract rates, extra items, deviation statements, and variation claims.
- Coordinate with site engineers, surveyors, planning teams, and project managers for measurements and billing certification.
- Prepare bills as per tender conditions, technical specifications, and departmental requirements.
- Maintain billing records, supporting documents, and work progress reports.
- Follow up on bill submission, certification, and payment status with the client/department.
- Ensure accuracy of measurements, quantities, rates, and supporting documents.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in canal, irrigation, water resources, or civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of RA billing, MB preparation, BOQ, subcontractor billing, and quantity estimation.
- Familiarity with earthwork, canal lining, embankments, cross-drainage structures, and concrete works.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of irrigation department billing procedures and contract documentation is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate with site teams and meet billing submission deadlines.
