Applicant guide

Show the project behind the job title.

A construction resume becomes more useful when it shows what you built and what you were responsible for.

Make your experience concrete

“Site engineer” can mean different things on a high-rise building, a metro corridor or an industrial facility. When describing a role, start with the project type, your scope of work and your level of responsibility.

Describe the project

Include the construction segment, location, project stage and the kind of team you worked with. Mention project scale where you can state it accurately. Avoid numbers you cannot verify.

Explain what you did

Write clear bullets about responsibilities you personally owned: planning, site execution, measurement, billing, coordination, QA/QC, safety or handover. Name the tools or standards you used when they matter to the role.

Connect experience to the next role

Read the job requirements carefully. Put your most relevant projects first and use the same precise terminology an employer uses when it accurately describes your experience. This makes it easier for a hiring team to understand your fit.

Keep dates, locations and qualifications consistent across your resume and application. A concise and accurate profile is more useful than a long list of unconnected keywords.
