Start with the project context
State whether the work is residential, commercial, industrial or infrastructure. Include the project location and, where useful, the stage of delivery. These details help professionals recognise relevant experience quickly.
Separate essential from preferred experience
List the technical skills, qualifications and years of experience that are genuinely needed. Distinguish these from preferences, such as a particular project segment or software tool.
Describe the day-to-day scope
Explain what the person will own, who they will work with, and what decisions they can make. For planning, quantity surveying, QA/QC, MEP and site roles, practical responsibilities are often more informative than a broad title.
Make the application useful
Provide a realistic location, work arrangement and hiring process. If compensation can be disclosed, state it clearly. Review the brief with the project team before publishing so requirements match the actual work.
